The Owatonna girls' tennis team beat Farmington 5-2 Thursday. Owatonna High School volleyball lost a five-set match to Northfield. Blooming Prairie and NRHEG football lost their regular-season finales.

The Owatonna girls' tennis team advanced to the section semifinals again with their 5-2 victory over Farmington on Thursday at the OHS courts. The No. 3 seed Huskies will get a rematch with No. 2 seed Northfield in Tuesday's semifinals in Rochester.

Owatonna volleyball, Blooming Prairie football and NRHEG football all suffered losses that will hurt their position in the playoff standings. OHS volleyball lost in five sets to Northfield. The Raiders won the first two sets. The Huskies responded with two straight to set up the fifth set. Northfield won it 16-14. Blooming Prairie dropped a 42-40 decision to Kenyon-Wanamingo after missing the two-point conversion after rallying for a touchdown with less than a minute to go. NRHEG rallied from an early deficit to take the lead, but lost 24-23 to Maple River. Each team should still open with home playoff games Wednesday, October 13. Brackets will be announced Saturday.
