The Owatonna Foundation is accepting grant applications through September 1. The foundation has been supporting projects in Owatonna since 1957.

Now approaching 60 years of supporting capitol projects around town, the Owatonna Foundation has a September 1 deadline for their current round of giving. Grant guidelines are provided on their website. Since their inception, the Owatonna Foundation has committed nearly $12 million in grants and scholarships, according to a news release provided to KRFO Radio.

Foundation Executive Director Laura Resler said in the prepared statement, "The mission of the Owatonna Foundation is to improve the quality of life for present and future generations by supporting Owatonna projects that focus on community, arts, recreation, and education."

Some recent projects the foundation has assisted with include St. Mary's School for fire-rated doors and walls, the Steele County Historical Society for Village of Yesteryear repairs, the dugout remodeling at the Steele County Fairgrounds, new playground equipment at Lincoln School and Little Theatre of Owatonna for sound equipment upgrades, among other projects.
