Owatonna High School football players will practice a different style of blitzing Wednesday, Aug. 12, when then go around town selling their fundraising Gold Card.

Players in grades 9 through 12 are selling the annual discount card for $20. They will go around Owatonna on Wednesday from 5-9PM. Contact a player or coach if you are missed. The Gold Card gets holders discounts and deals at local businesses that support Owatonna High School football.

Upcoming activities and events for Owatonna football include the parks and recreation youth football clinic on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 5:45-7:15PM. This is for the third- and fourth-grade Mighty Huskies and the fifth- and sixth-grade Junior Huskies.

The varsity season opens Saturday, Aug. 22, at defending state champion Mankato West at 7PM. Listen on-air on KRFO AM 1390 or with the radioPup app for your smart phone. It is a free app.

The annual Steele County Fair football pep rally is Sunday, Aug. 23, on the Fair Square Stage at 8PM.

Junior high football practice begins Monday, Aug. 24.

Owatonna High School activity passes are now available at the high school. They will also be available at the elementary schools, Willow Creek and St. Mary's beginning on Monday, Aug. 17.
