Owatonna football takes a five-game winning streak into the playoffs and will have 10 days between games with a first-round bye in Section 1-5A.

The Huskies (6-2) are the top seed and await the winner of the Austin (3-5) at Rochester JM (2-6) game. Northfield (6-2) got the No. 2 seed and hosts the winner of Rochester Century (2-6) at Rochester Mayo (5-3). OHS went 5-0 against their section opponents. Northfield is the defending section champ. First-round games are Tuesday, October 25. Owatonna will play its first game Saturday, October 29. The finals are Friday, November 4.

Blooming Prairie (6-2) is the fourth seed in Section 1A and opens with Southland (3-5) on Tuesday at 7PM on Kat Kountry 105FM. Top-seed Rushford-Peterson entertains Kingsland (0-8) on the same side of the bracket. The other first-round games feature Hayfield (3-5) at No. 2 seed Fillmore Central (7-1) and Wabasha-Kellog (3-5) at Goodhue (6-2).

NRHEG ended up with the No. 3 seed in Section 2AA after their overtime loss Wednesday to Maple River, who earned the No. 1 seed. The Panthers host Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (4-4) Tuesday at 7PM. Medford (2-6) goes on the road as the seventh seed to No. 2 Kenyon-Wanamingo (7-1). Le Sueur-Henderson (1-7) goes to Maple River (6-2) and Lake Crystal-Wellcome-Memorial (3-5) plays at No. 4 seed Blue Earth Area (5-3).

Triton had a tie-breaker in the QRF rankings go their way and are the No. 3 seed in Section 1AA. The Cobras host Chatfield in Tuesday's quarterfinals. Dover-Eyota plays at No. 2 seed Zumbrota-Mazeppa. No. 4 Lewiston-Altura opens at No. 5 St. Charles and Winona Cotter faces defending state champ Caledonia.
