Recent Owatonna High School graduates Alec Holcomb and Clay Leidall are on the south roster for the Play Ball Minnesota All-Star Series June 24-25.

Leidall and Holcomb were the top two pitchers for the section runner-up Huskies during the prep season. Holcomb was also named the Section 1AAAA MVP. The high school all-star series has changed to a six-team event. Each team plays two seven-inning games on Friday and one nine-inning game Saturday.

On Friday the South All-Stars play Metro East at 5PM at Chaska Athletic Park and Metro South at 7:05PM. Saturday's game times are 11AM, 3PM and 6PM. The South will play one time Saturday.

Among the other players on the South roster are Kollin Hanson of Faribault Bethlehem Academy, Luke Rechtzigel of Kenyon-Wanamingo, Jared Campbell and Michael Stubbs of Rochester Mayo, Brady DesLauriers of Mankato East, Hunter Frericks and Ben Heichel of Mankato West, Logan Saltou of Rochester John Marshall and Jake Thompson of Albert Lea.

This year marks the 42nd annual all-star event.

The Owatonna Aces amateur baseball team plays at Northfield on Friday, June 24, at 7:30PM. On Sunday, June 26, the Aces travel to Pine Island to play at 2PM. Owatonna Legion Post 77 returns to action Monday, June 27, at Waseca at 6:30PM.
