The day started with a kid parade and games and ended with a car show, music and the United Way campaign kickoff. Merchants began their first of three days of sidewalk sales.

Activities for the kids included a parade in the morning with games in Central Park afterward hosted by the United Way of Steele County. Food concessions were set up around the park. A classic car show took up a couple of blocks in downtown Owatonna. And the community band performed at the band shell to wrap up the opening day of Crazy Days.

Friday will include 4-H activities from 11AM to 2PM, a petting zoo sponsored by the Medford FFA from 11AM to 2PM and the RAD Zoo from 1:30-4PM. Live music Friday night from Dekam and Johnson from 6-10PM.

Saturday's events include the farmers market, band shell entertainment, the color dash and the downtown art on the greens. Get the full schedule and hear the Talk of the Town interview previewing the event.

The hours for the sidewalk sale are 9AM to 5:30PM on Friday and 9AM to 5PM on Saturday.
