OHS boys tennis opened their season Monday at the West Hills Tennis Center due to cool, rainy, windy conditions and scored a 7-0 victory over Waseca.

The Huskies did not drop a set. Singles winners were Eden Mrozek, Derek Thada, Cody Bussert and Evan Huemoeller. Owatonna's doubles teams for the day were Dan Keller with Ben Denio, Spencer Intress with Lincoln Maher, and Ethan Engel with Aqil Lakha.

Owatonna opens Big Nine Conference action Saturday at Red Wing. OHS plays Rochester JM at 11AM and the Wingers at 1PM.

Wet weather Monday wiped out most of the prep schedule, however Triton softball clipped Lake City 11-10, Zumbrota-Mazeppa blanked Kenyon-Wanamingo 10-0 and Austin edged Kasson-Mantorville 9-8.

NRHEG baseball and softball against WEM was postponed to Tuesday. Medford baseball and softball against Blooming Prairie was postponed, as was Triton's baseball game at Rochester Lourdes.

Tuesday, Owatonna baseball (1-0) goes to Winona for a 5PM game. Huskies softball (1-0) holds its home opener with Winona at 5PM at Morehouse Park. Area baseball includes Medford versus Tri-City United in Montgomery and WEM at NRHEG. Softball games feature Maple River at Blooming Prairie, Triton at Bethlehem Academy and NRHEG at WEM.
