Lakeville North doesn't lose to many teams once, in any sport. Owatonna baseball will have to top the Panthers twice on Tuesday to win the Section 1AAAA title in Dundas.

Owatonna led North 2-0 late in Saturday's winners bracket final, but the Panthers rallied for the 4-2 win. The Huskies stayed alive in the double-elimination tournament with a come-from-behind 8-7 eight inning win over Lakeville South. That sets up the scenario where Owatonna needs to beat Lakeville North twice to capture their first section title since 2009. North has gone to state the past three years, finishing second in the AAA tournament last June.

North (19-4) has great pitching and plays solid defense, according to Owatonna coach Tate Cummins. North had both on great display in their victory over OHS on Saturday. North averages about four-and-a-half runs per game, according to statistics from www.minnesota-scores.net. Owatonna (15-9) scores about five runs per game. However North gives up fewer than three runs per contest. OHS surrenders over four.

Game time is 5PM Tuesday at Memorial Park in Dundas. If Owatonna wins, the teams play again at about 7:30PM. Action will be heard on Kat Kountry 105FM.

In Monday's baseball playoffs, Albert Lea beat Red Wing 10-7 in Section 1AAA. The Tigers will face defending section champ Northfield in Tuesday's finals. In Section 1AA, Chatfield eliminated Lake City 4-0 and plays Pine Island in the finals Tuesday. Randolph knocked out USC 4-0 in 1A and will meet Lewiston-Altura in the finals.

In Section 2AA, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop topped WEM 4-3 and will play Fairmont in another elimination game. TCU awaits that winner and top-seed Belle Plaine rests after taking the winners bracket final.
