Owatonna Baseball Playoffs: Aces Play Wednesday, VFW Appears at State Thursday

The Owatonna Aces begin Region 5C playoff action Wednesday night at home at 7:30PM. VFW Post 3723 makes its state tournament debut Thursday afternoon in New Ulm.

The Aces are the No. 3 seed and host sixth seed Pine Island at 7:30PM at Fuller Field at Dartts Park on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The winner plays Saturday at 1PM. The loser plays an elimination game at 7PM Saturday. All games after Wednesday are in Owatonna.

The other first-round match ups Wednesday night include eighth seed Waseca at top seed Wanamingo, fifth seed Hayfield at No. 4 Stewartville-Racine and seventh seed Zumbrota at second seed Winona.

Owatonna's VFW baseball team is making its first appearance at the state tournament and begins with a game against Starbuck at 12:30PM Thursday, Aug. 6. The winner advances to a 10AM game on Friday. The loser plays again on Thursday at 5:30PM. All games are in New Ulm.
