After an absence of several years, the Festival of the Arts will return to Owatonna. Renamed "Art On The Hills," the art festival will take place on the grounds of the Owatonna Arts Center and State School Orphanage Museum at West Hills on July 29 and 30 this summer. Plans are for about 50 artists displaying and selling their works along with live entertainment, art activities and ethnic food concessions. Those who would like to be a part of the festival may contact the Owatonna Art Center at (507) 451-0533. Further details will be revealed as the date draws nearer.

Currently in the gallery, the works of Kim Dayton are on display. Visitors to the Art Center are reminded to check out the artwork of Kimberlee Roth. She has loaned a piece of artwork of handmade ceramic pieces, which is mounted above the main desk.

Classes coming up include a print making demonstration on Saturday, February 25, from 1-5PM with Andrew Gaffley.

There is also a three-day watercolor workshop on March 3, 4 and 5 from 9AM to 4PM at the Owatonna Arts Center. Andy Evansen will be conducting the classes, which are intended not just for the advanced artist but also the novice. There are still openings and interested parties are encouraged to contact the Arts Center.
