The Owatonna Aces amateur baseball team is the fourth seed for the playoffs and will host Dodge County at 7:30PM Wednesday, August 3, at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park.

The eight-team double-elimination Region 5C tournament opens with games at the higher seeded team on Wednesday. All games after that will be at Charlie Fuller Field in Owatonna over the next two weekends. The top two teams in the tournament advance to state. The Aces went to state in 2015.

Owatonna beat Dodge County twice this summer by scores of 7-6 and 7-5. The Aces won their final two games of the regular season.

Top Stewartville-Racine entertains Zumbrota on Wednesday. The other first-round games are Winona at second seed Wanamingo and Pine Island at third seed Waseca. Region 5C consists of 10 teams. Winona and Zumbrota knocked out Plainview-Elgin-Millville and the Rochester Roadrunners, respectively, in best-of-three series over the weekend.

The Wednesday winners play Saturday at 10AM and 1PM. Wednesday's losers play Saturday at 4PM and 7PM. Two more elimination games will be Sunday, August 7, along with the winners bracket final. The tournament wraps up August 13-14.

The state Class C tournament in Hutchinson, Dassel and Litchfield begins Friday, August 19, and continues through Labor Day.
