The Owatonna baseball teams scattered around the region Wednesday. The Aces won a game in Waseca while the Legion and VFW clubs split double headers in Rochester.

Aces amateur baseball picked up a nice 5-0 victory at Waseca. Brandon Wolf tossed eight strong innings. Cody Johnson wrapped up the game with his first mound appearance in about a year. Sheridan Skala sparked the offense with a two-run triple. The Aces play at the Rochester Royals Saturday at 3PM. Sunday Owatonna plays at Northfield at 2PM.

Legion Post 77 split a twin bill with the Rochester Patriots Wednesday. Owatonna dropped a 10-2 game to start things, but followed up with a 2-1 win. Playoffs begin on Tuesday July 21.

VFW Post 3723 split their games with Rochester Mayo, losing the first 8-3 but bouncing back for a 5-3 triumph. Owatonna is the fifth seed for the playoffs which begin Saturday in Austin. Owatonna will play No. 12 seed Rochester Lourdes at 11:30AM. Fourth seed Austin is the host team and will face No. 13 seed Winona on Saturday.
