I suspect every single day or month of the year is reserved a National Something or Other. Here's a look at just a few causes that claim October as their National Month Of.

National Caffeine Addiction Recovery Month. I quit coffee cold turkey for a year or so with no ill effects. I was just drinking too much of it but I've resumed my consumption. I do limit myself to no more than 4 cups a day. I have heard from a number of folks who claim they have headaches when they give up the java.

National Feral Hog Month? Yup, there is such a thing. While we don't have feral hog problems up here, it is a real concern in some parts of the south.

National Toilet Tank Repair Month. Family time. Let's all join hands and stand around the toilet together and see if it flushes properly.

National Squirrel Month. I don't understand this one either. It's nuts.

National Window Covering Safety Month. I'm at a loss for words on this one. Blinds and curtains are potentially dangerous?

Some of these I just don't understand but I can see the value of selecting a National Month to draw attention to your cause or belief.

October is also claimed as National Dessert Month, National Pickled Pepper Month and National Rolling Skating Month among many others.
