The Midwest Northern Nut of Minneapolis has announced a voluntary recall of various products roasted and sold by the company. Some of the products packaged and sold may have peanuts and or other tree nuts that were not intended to go into said packages. Those who have allergies or severe sensitivity to peanuts or various tree nuts run the risk of a serious allergic reaction.

Some of the products under the recall include Pee Bee Gee Bee Gourmet Caramel Corn, Hokey Pokey Gourmet Caramel Corn, Midwest Trail Mix, Texas Twist Snack Mix, Smokey Mountain Snack Mix and many others. A complete list of the products which are being recalled may be found at the Midwest Northern Nut web site. These products were sold at the Midwest Northern Nut retail store in Minneapolis and were also distributed nationwide.

The recall was initiated after the potential for allergen cross--contact was identified by the Department of Agriculture during an inspection.  No complaints of illness or reactions have been reported yet in connection with the mix up.
