New ‘Old’ Restaurant Coming To Faribault

Steve and Jen Moore of Webster came to Faribault looking for a new challenge. When they saw the building that formerly housed Alexander's and Pub 31, they knew this was place to face that challenge.

According to the Faribault Daily News, within a couple of weeks they had a deal in place to  lease the space. And they are going to call it "The Warehouse A."

They have set an aggressive date of August 18 to open up the place, initially doing a breakfast and lunch menu as they will have their food license but not a liquor license by then. Come October they hope to open the bar and add dinner service. Then a short time later they hope to open "The Loading Dock" downstairs.

Steve has 30 years of experience in everything from a mom and pop restaurant to bigger millions-of-dollars-a-year-in-revenue restaurants. He knows from past experience it's not just important to have good food and service, but be a part of the community as well. They intend to use local vendors and other sources as much as possible.

In the employees they hire, they will be looking for personality as well as ability and experience. They are trying to make it appeal to the "blue collar" person, be family friendly, yet be a little upscale. Don't look for linens on the tables though. Do look for prices comparable to other places in town.

For food you can expect a typical breakfast menu but also items such as golden brioche with caramel, banana and pecans or red velvet crepes. As for lunch, Steve and Jen were excited about their duck bacon club sandwich, their homemade soups and Steve’s famous whisky cowboy salad. Steve added that his custom burger will stack up against any burger in town.

Come the new year they want to work on doing catering and banquets up stairs. I hope this time around is the charm on this old building and wish the Moore's good luck. I will check it out for sure.
