Saturday April 19 was National Record Store Day. Apparently, vinyl is making a comeback.

By coincidence we stopped by a record shop on Saturday. Probably my first time in a 'record store' in 15...20 years. (history of records)

We were in Eau Claire to see our daughter who attends UWEC. After dinner at the Acoustic Cafe, we strolled through a very quiet downtown. Accept for Revival Records, which featured a live band and a standing room only crowd. Actually there were no seats anyway. A store filled with records! Who knew such a thing still existed! Abba. Village People. the Beatles. Christopher Cross. 45's too.

My kids do not know what a 'single' is. So it was a chance to show them just how old I am. (Next week I'll talk to them about the Walkman!)

Some current artists are also producing records.

This experience led to some fun nostalgia talk at church on Sunday, around Easter breakfast. Records, cassettes, 8-tracks, 'stereo systems.' Might as well have brought up cavemen too!

almost bought a record on Saturday. But we don't have a record player at home. Nor an 8-track tape player. And it looks like we all missed National 8-track Day on April 11. Really!
