FFA Week is being observed February 21-28. It all began in 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri. More young men were becoming interested in leaving the farm for jobs in the city. The FFA chapter began when 33 young men from 18 states gathered in Kansas City to form FFA in an attempt to make farming more attractive.

The national blue and corn gold were adopted as official colors the following year and the blue corduroy jackets became the norm in 1933.

The Owatonna FFA Appreciation Breakfast will be served this Thursday morning from 6:30-9AM in the Owatonna High School Ag Building. The menu will feature muffins, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee, juice and milk. The public is invited to this free breakfast.

Jerry Groskreutz will be chatting with FFA members, advisers and others associated with the chapter on Thursday morning on AM 1390 KRFO, brought to you by Ringhofer Insurance and Owatonna Mutual Fire Insurance.
