My Valentine

Valentine's Day was nearly two weeks ago, so why do I bring up the subject?

Well, I accidentally gave my wife a very special Valentine's gift. It's a gift that keeps on giving. I gave her something to hang over my head for days, for months or even years. Wouldn't every wife like to have something like that? Oh dear! Remember when you screwed up?

Here's the story. I get up at 3:30 a.m. and my wife works the night shift. I sleep in the basement two floors below where she sleeps. So out of the hundreds of Valentine cards that said "Wife" on the front, what are the odds I would pick out one that has the first verse that reads: "It is such a thrill waking up next to you each morning."

She's not gonna let me forget this one. She also has confirmation that I don't read the inside of the cards. Don't get me wrong. We're both having fun with this. Our paths cross only a few times a week. However, the first words out of her mouth are, "It is such a thrill waking up next to you each morning." She's laughing when she says it and, it makes me smile, too. This might be the best dollar I ever spent on her!
