Buzzer beaters occur frequently during March tournament time, but not often in hockey. Owatonna High School's adapted floor hockey team suffered a heartbreaking loss on Wednesday. Mounds View scored three times in the final 1:15 of the third period. The final goal flying into the net with less than two seconds remaining and the overflow crowd at the middle school counting down to the Huskies' apparent annual trip to the state tournament. The momentum carried into overtime as Mounds View scored in the opening minute to shock the Huskies 8-7.

Owatonna led 4-1 entering the third period of the one-game play-in for the state tournament. They also led 5-3 and 7-4, with the Huskies' final goal with about 1:15 left. The Rams peppered the Owatonna net with shots and rallied to tie the game at 7-7. There was a slight delay to the Rams' celebration after the game-tying goal as they waited for confirmation that it went in before the clock ran out. Their celebration on the game-winner came quicker.

The Huskies were led by senior Zach Sencer who scored three times. Senior Taylor Hagen and junior Harrison Utoft each scored twice. Other seniors on the OHS roster include Sam Mullenbach and C.J. Escalante.
