Moonset and sunrise at the same time

A special and rare lunar eclipse called selenelion lunar eclipse, meaning observers will have a chance to see both eclipsed moonset and sunrise simultaneously, will occur Wednesday, October 8th.

The last total lunar eclipse for this year will begin at 4:45 a.m. EST and end at 9:05 a.m. and the MOST brilliant part starts at 6:25 a.m. EST and ending at 7:24 a.m. when the moon will take on its blood-red hue.  Of course in our area, the times would be 3:45 a.m. ending at 8:05 a.m., and then the moon blood-red hue will be from 5:25 a.m. to 6:24 a.m.
