The MN Ag Expo, the annual meeting of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, will be this Wednesday and Thursday at the Verizon Wireless center in Mankato. Many years ago the Mn Ag Expo started as the annual meeting of the Soybean Growers Association. The Minnesota Corn Growers held their annual meeting at a different time. The majority of farmers that grow soybeans also grow corn. Many began asking why don't the Minnesota Corn Growers and Soybean Growers get together and have their meetings at the same time? So, the new and expanded Mn Ag Expo was "born." The first few years it was held at Jack Pot Junction in Morton and a few years ago it was moved to Mankato.

The Mn Ag Expo has grown from a trade show of about a dozen booths to now more than 100. In the hall outside of the trade show, the University of Minnesota Extension Service set up a lot of booths displaying research results funded by the Corn and Soybean Growers. In addition there are seminars on a variety of topics from markets, weather, exports, public policy to being an advocate. The Mn Ag Expo is free to all corn and soybean growers in Minnesota. Preregistration has closed but you can register right at the Mn Ag Expo. For more information, go to the web site: mnagexpo.com.
