The Section 1AA Champion Caledonia Warriors are the #3 seed in their portion of the State Boys Basketball Tournament.  #4 rated Caledonia (26-4) will open against Minnewaska Area (21-7) at Williams Arena 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night.

The Warriors looked laser focused in the Sections, defeating #11 rated St. Charles 99-78 in the semi-finals before sending the #16 ranked Byron Bears into hibernation 87-53 Saturday. Caledonia's four losses were to St. Charles 79-75, Minneapolis North 79-77, Class 1A Section Champion Rushford-Peterson 53-50 and Minnehaha Academy 79-75.

Minneapolis North (23-6) was the #1 rated team in the state in the final Minnesota Basketball News Class AA rankings.  They were upset by #5 rated Brooklyn Center in the Section 5AA championship game Friday at St. Cloud State University.

The Centaurs (21-8) are the #2 seed and will face the Breckenridge Cowboys (25-5) at 6:00 p.m. in The Barn.  Brooklyn Center defeated Minneapolis North 81-76 and scored over 80 points in every Section Tournament game.  The Cowboys lassoed previously unbeaten #3 rated Perham 49-39 in the Section 8AA title game at Concordia College in Moorhead.

Top seed and #2 ranked Minnehaha Academy (25-4) plays Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. in the Target Center against #18 rated Jordan (25-5).  The Redhawks four losses were to Eden Prairie 71-48, Hopkins 92-75, Minneapolis North 62-53 and Austin 61-59.  The Hubmen five losses were to Waconia 64-62, Marshall 54-43, Holy Family Catholic 85-55, Minneapolis South 66-65 and Mayer Lutheran 54-46.

8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at Target Center #4 seed and #13 ranked Esko (26-4) goes up against #5 seed and #14 rated St. Cloud Cathedral (25-5).  The Eskomos  have a 16 game winning streak with their four losses against Annandale 65-55 in overtime, Columbia Heights 75-60, Brooklyn Center 71-68 and Perham 66-58.

The SCC Crusaders are riding a 7 game winning streak and fell to the Eskomos 59-56 in Esko February 23rd.  They were beaten by Caledonia 94-80, Mandan, N.D. 76-71, Annandale 69-64  and #7 rated Melrose 87-86 in overtime. St. Cloud Cathedral avenged their loss to Melrose in the Section 6AA semifinals and beat #8 ranked Eden Valley-Watkins in the championship game 55-54.
