The National Alliance on Mental Illness will be offering a free training session on Friday, June 24, at the Edgewater Bay Pavilion in Albert Lea. Hours will be 9:30AM to 3:30PM.

You may attend all day or choose between the morning or afternoon session. The morning discussion will focus on understanding depression in older adults. Topics will include learning about the different types of anxiety disorders, warning signs of suicide and learning about resources available to support older adults with anxiety.

After the free lunch, the afternoon session will focus on topics such as dementia basics in older adults and mental illness basics in older adults. Understand treatment, management and recovery will also be discussed. Warning signs of mental illness and dementia in older adults will also be covered.
