Meet the Candidates at Owatonna Country Club

There will be two more candidate forums this month at the Owatonna Country Club. Monday, October 24's session will feature candidates for the Owatonna School Board. The final forum will be Monday, October 31, featuring state House and Senate candidates. The forums run over the noon hour and are presented by the Owatonna Chamber along with the People's Press and Early Edition Rotary Club. The forums are later aired the following Wednesday at 5:15PM on AM 1390 KRFO.

On Tuesday, October 25, the Owatonna Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a Meet the Candidates event. Hours will be 2:30-4:30PM. Veterans issues will be addressed by candidates for the city, county and state legislature. Veterans make up more than 13 percent of the population of Steele County and are 50 percent more likely to vote than non-veterans, according to Dave Thul, who is the legislative chairman for the Minnesota VFW 1st District.
