The recently organized Medford Farmers Market has been in operation about six weeks now this summer. According to organizer Jennifer Kath, anywhere from 10-20 vendors have taken part each Thursday from 3-7PM in the Christ the King parking lot.

This Thursday, July 13, the market will feature a POP event or Power of Produce day. Youngsters between the ages of 4 and 12 will be given the equivalent of $2 to spend on produce at the Medford Farmers Market. The Steele County SHIP or "Statewide Health Improvement Partnership" provided a grant to help get the market off the ground and they're also playing a role in Thursday's promotion. There will be game for the kids and opportunities for the youngsters to sample different types of vegetables. Kids will also get the chance to small a number of herbs.

Items for sale at the market in addition to fruits and vegetables have included chicken and duck eggs, homemade honey chapstick, popcorn, cheese curds and more.

More vendors are always welcome as there's plenty of room.
