Days of the month sometimes bring attention to a particular person or an awareness to something a little more serious like Greenpeace Day (Sept. 15) or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses Day (Sept. 8). Sometimes it is about fun.

Scooby-Doo Day is Sept. 13. International Dot Day and 8-Track Day are both on Sept. 15. Dot Day? That is all about creativity. Then continue to be creative on Play-Doh Day on the 16th.

Say "Arrr" on the 19th for Talk Like a Pirate Day or watch Pirates of the Caribbean movies; Treasure Island or Peter Pan would also work. Although there is a Captain Hook movie, too.

Yummy Ice Cream Cone Day is Sept. 22; remember to put the ice cream in it. The types of cones vary: traditional cone, aka the cake cone, or waffle cone or maybe the sugar cone. All are good with ice cream.

Our manager will like Punctuation Day on Sept. 24, if we remember to use the marks correctly.

The 25th is National One-Hit Wonder Day, which to tell the truth, celebrates quite a few hits.

The 29th of September is kind of a fun combination -- International Coffee Day and Mutation Day, which is about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Does that bring back any memories? Sometimes they acted like they were drinking too much coffee.

Enjoy Sept. 30, it is your chance to really come up with a doozy because it is Ask A Stupid Question Day.

The full moon will have a lunar eclipse on Sept. 27, and that date also is a harvest moon, falling closest to the autumn equinox.

The sun is shining above ... Think Happy Thoughts.
