The Steele County Historical Society will be having a Clinks and Canvas event. It is an evening to paint and have some fun. Paint nights are for all to enjoy. Everyone paints the same picture and all the pictures seem to turn out different. It is a masterpiece no matter what.

The Steele County Historical Society evening is about painting "The Barn Quilt." It is a 16x20 piece and learn some history behind the barn quilt.

The price of the ticket is $40 and that includes a glass of wine or beer. Space is limited to 50 people. There will be instructors helping in the painting on Thursday, June 23. The doors open at 6:30PM with the painting at 7PM. It will take place at the History Center, 1700 Austin Road in Owatonna.

Also a note, the Steele County Humane Society postponed their paint night from last month to July 21, which is also a Thursday. The evening begins at 6:30PM.

This time it is a picture of a sandcastle at sunset.

The evening is called Painting for Strays. It is a fundraiser to help stray cats and kittens in the impound find homes and to vet feral cats and either re-home to farms or release to where they were caught. Either way it is a way to reduce the amount of cats without homes. Scroll down on their Facebook page to sign up by email or on the page itself.

The cost is $30 for paint night with the Steele County Humane Society. It will take place at the Owatonna Incubator. The address is 1065 24th Ave. S.W.
