Just last week a new dog was placed in foster care with the Steele County Humane Society. His name is Timber and he's up for adoption. He's about 7 years old and is a Norwegian/Elkhound mix. The actual Norwegian word is Elghund, which somehow segued into Elkhound in English. Elghund actually means "moose hound," because this particular breed was used for tracking and keeping moose at bay.

Timber is quite laid back and house broken. He has a lot of hair so will probably require regular brushing. He's microchipped, neutered and dewormed. Timber's adoption fee is $200.

The Humane Society's Fore the Paws Golf Tournament is set for May 20 at Brooktree. You can sign up for the tourney at Reggie's Brew House in Owatonna. The fee is $200 per team. A silent auction and beer bash at Reggie's will follow the tournament.

Remember to download the KRFO RadioPup app and follow the Huskies wherever you are on your mobile device.
