The 2018 Kenyon-Wanamingo High School Homecoming King and Queen were crowned during "Shades of Autumn" coronation at the KWHS Auditorium Monday night.  The 2018 Homecoming Queen is Kassandra Keller and the King Dylan Steberg.  2017 Homecoming King and Queen Cole Johnson and Lauren Berg returned to participate in the coronation.

Other candidates and members of the KWHS Homecoming Royal Court include Chelsea Gilster and Gavin Bauer, Sophie Kyllo and Seth Brossard, Sydney Paquette and Jacob Hilger, Kaitlyn Vold and Tyler Ryan, Celia Woock and Nathan Bauer.  After Masters of Ceremony Shelby Noah and Kallie Bauer introduced the candidates coaches or athletes from the fall sports gave an update on how their season was going.

Head Volleyball Coach Jen Nerison encouraged  those in attendance to stop by the Castle tonight for their showdown with Class 2A #2 ranked Kasson-Mantorville.  Coach Nerison was proud of her team's competition at the Class 2A Volleyball Showcase in Burnsville last Friday and Saturday.  The Knights won their pool and placed fifth with a majority of the top teams participating.

Due to that impressive showing Kenyon-Wanamingo was rated #6 in the latest Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association Class 2A rankings.

Tonight's match will be broadcast on KDHL Radio.  If everything is on time we will begin about 7:00 p.m. with a 7:15 p.m. start.

Head Football Coach Jake Wieme also requested fans make the trip to Mayer Lutheran to cheer on his team.  The Knights are coming off a win over Bethlehem Academy last Friday and want to build on that momentum.  The Crusaders are state ranked.

Soccer player Carrie Doehling said they are getting better each game and are having fun.  Cross Country team member Tyler Ryan introduced the Kenyon-Wanamingo members of the Z-M/K-W team.

Trap Shooting Coach Larry Walker introduced team members and talked about their sport.  Cheerleading Team Coach Shannon Schaefer also introduced her squad.

2017 Queen Lauren Berg crowned this year's King Dylan Steberg and Steberg then crowned 2018 Queen Kassandra Keller.

Freshman Attendants were Leah Berg and Trebor Steberg.  Sophomore Attendants were Carrie Doehling and Seth Kyllo and Junior Attendants Taylor Kish and Daniel Benrud.

The Homecoming royalty will be introduced at tonight's volleyball match.  Thursday the Knights host Goodhue in another H-V-L volleyball tussle.  That night members of the Kenyon-Wanamingo Athletic Hall of Fame will be introduced to the crowd.

Saturday night the Kenyon-Wanamingo Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet will take place in the Auditorium with a catered dinner in the commons area.
