The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights girls basketball team Friday avenged an earlier season loss with a 59-34 win over the Cannon Falls Bombers in the Castle.  When the two teams played earlier this season in the Bombers Hangar it was a close game throughout before the Bombers hit some free throws down the stretch and scored a 55-48 win.  Kenyon-Wanamingo enjoyed a 29-16 halftime lead.

Cannon Falls whittled the double digit deficit down to 8 points before Knights Head Coach Jake Wieme took a time out.  He told KDHL following the game he told his team not to play scared when the Bombers slapped a press on them.  It must have worked because Kenyon-Wanamingo pulled away to secure the win.  Our Held Bus Service of Kenyon Knights of the night were senior Kasandra Keller, juniors Riley Dummer, Julianna Boyum and Sydney Burow.

It was senior night so Keller was honored before the game and finished with 5 points.  Dummer got into a shooting rhythmn and had 22 points, Boyum finished with 10 points and Burow came off the bench with 8 points and had to have at least a half dozen rebounds.

Cannon Falls had two players with double digit points.  Sophomore Bella Davisson finished with 14 points and her classmate Belle Freeberg added 11 points.

The Bombers were 15 of 27 from the free throw line and the Knights 11 of 18.  Kenyon-Wanamingo is 5-12 overall and 2-8 in the Hiawatha Valley League and Cannon Falls fell to 6-13 while dropping their 7th straight game.  They are 1-9 in league play.

The Knights host Randolph Monday while the Bombers host Triton.  KDHL will be broadcasting the boys game at Triton Monday with Cannon Falls legend Rod Johnson calling the game.  Coverage is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
