Owatonna is among the top five finalists for the Minnesota Monthly publication's first-ever Best MN Town contest. The Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism invites community members to be part of the unveiling party to be held November 30 in downtown Minneapolis. In their weekly email newsletter, the chamber included the link to get details and order tickets for the party.

As one of ten towns selected to compete for the recognition, Owatonna won the online vote by a landslide. That was one of several components that will ultimately decide which town will win the honor. A media campaign and feature in Minnesota Month goes to the winner, along with a proclamation on the governor. Owatonna, Austin, Walker, Waconia and Bemidji are the final five.

The chamber also reminds their members that November's Business After Hours event will be held one week early. The Steele County Historical Society and Hy-Vee Foods will co-host on Tuesday, November 14 at the Steele County History Center, beginning at 5:30PM.

The next Business Boot Camp is set for Thursday, November 16 at the Owatonna Public Library. The event is hosted by Edward Jones-Matthew Stanislav and will feature a panel of tax experts to answer your business tax questions.
