After five years as the Owatonna High School wrestling coach, Cliff Casteel is stepping down to spend more time as a parent in the stands for his kids.

Casteel joined the KRFO coach show on Saturday to revisit the state championship performances of a pair of Owatonna wrestlers. Peyton Robb won his second straight state title. Brandon Moen won his first. Teammate Tanner Cole took third place.

The Huskies had four others qualify for state but not place. Cade King, Bryce Woodwin, Giffin Thorn and Riley Becker all wrestled at state.

Casteel is retiring from coaching to spend more time supporting his kids in their activities. He has a son in the wrestling program in Faribault where they live. Casteel told KRFO that he missed many of his son's events and wants to be there to cheer him on. When asked about whether he would return to coaching someday Casteel said it's hard to answer that question right now, but he doesn't think so.
