The home finale came earlier than expected and wasn't played at home for the Owatonna High School volleyball team. They played Austin in Medford on Tuesday for their senior night.

Due to damage caused to the OHS gym floor from an August rain storm, Owatonna has played just three "home" dates at the Medford High School gym. Tuesday the team celebrated their deep senior class before beating Austin in three straight sets 25-14, 26-24, 25-11.

Seniors for the Huskies include Samantha Mundale, Tori Urch, Karissa Gregory, Erin Steffenson, Madie Kubista, Riley Birk, Tate Peterson, Lexi Langeland and Devin Miller.

Owatonna's win over Austin was their fourth straight victory after sweeping the second day of the St. Michael-Albertville tournament over the weekend. The Huskies are 12-13 overall and 5-4 in the Big Nine.

OHS goes to Mankato East on Thursday. That's one of the matches that was supposed to be a home match that got shifted to an away game. The Huskies go to No. 1A Faribault Bethlehem Academy on Monday, October 17, in a match to be covered by KDHL AM 920. Tuesday, October 18, they wrap up the regular season at Mankato West with coverage on KRFO AM 1390.

Section playoffs begin Wednesday, October 26.
