Five Owatonna High School varsity teams picked up six wins Thursday, at least two of which involved coming from behind. The No. 3 ranked OHS wrestlers swept a triangular meet in Mankato, starting with a 46-19 win over top-ten ranked Northfield and ending with a win over the host Scarlets. The Huskies compete at the Minnesota Christmas Tournament in Rochester Friday and Saturday.

The OHS boys basketball team won their home opener 60-57 over Rochester Century. A 38-26 halftime lead evaporated and the Panthers went ahead in the second half, but the Huskies pulled out the win to open their Big Nine schedule. Jared Fett scored 16 points and hauled in nine rebounds. Jack Hanson also scored 16. Steve Eckard added 13. Owatonna hosts Albert Lea Friday at 7:30 pm on KRFO AM 1390.

Huskies girls hockey bounced back from a loss at Faribault Tuesday with a solid 6-1 victory over Rochester John Marshall. OHS goes to Northfield Tuesday, December 18 at 7 pm on KRFO AM 1390.

The Owatonna boys hockey won at John Marshall 4-2 at the Rec Center Thursday, scoring the last three goals of the game for a come-from-behind win. OHS scored first when Luke Kubicek scored with a half-of-a-second left in the first period off an assist from his younger brother Zach.

JM scored twice in the first half of the second period for a 2-1 lead. Jacob Stoykovich evened the game on a rebound goal at 15:27 of the second with assists from Collin Pederson and Dom Valento. Luke Kubicek added his second goal of the night and fourth of the season early in the third from Mason Oland and Andrew Munns, who ended the scoring late in the period with assists from Valento and Evan Steinburg. The Huskies host Northfield Tuesday.

Owatonna's boys swimmers beat Albert Lea Thursday to even their dual meet season at 1-1. OHS goes to Mankato East Saturday.
