Owatonna boys and girls hockey each play three games this week. This marks an easier stretch than three games in three days that each team did over the holiday break.

The Owatonna girls hockey team (12-4, 7-2 in the Big Nine) is still ranked at No. 15 in Class A. They host Austin (8-6, 6-4) Tuesday at 7PM. Owatonna goes to Farmington (8-5-2) Thursday for a 7PM game. Saturday OHS travels to Graham Arena to play Rochester Century (7-9-1, 5-6) at 1PM.

Faribault leads the conference standings at 11-1. Red Wing is second at 6-1. John Marshall stands at 8-2 with Owatonna fourth at 7-2.

On Saturday's KRFO coach show, Owatonna's Tim Hunst talked about a great showing at the Schwan Cup tournament in Blaine during the holiday break, where the Huskies took home the consolation trophy.

The Owatonna boys hockey team made their annual trip to the shore of Lake Superior for the Heritage Tournament hosted by Duluth Denfeld. Owatonna played three ranked teams and came home with a tie and two one-goal losses. The Huskies (5-5-1) face Northfield (6-5, 6-1) on the road Tuesday at 7:30PM on KRFO AM 1390. The Raiders lead the Section 1A standings and are second in the Big Nine behind Rochester JM. Thursday, Owatonna plays at Century (5-7-1, 2-4) at 7:30PM and Saturday goes to Chanhassen (8-4-1) for a 3PM game.

Coach Josh Storm was happy with how the Huskies battled against good teams at the tournament in Duluth.
