Owatonna and Red Wing both remained unbeaten in Big Nine games with a 1-1 tie on Saturday. It was the only regular season meeting between the section rivals.

The defensive tussle was scoreless after two periods at the Prairie Island Arena in Red Wing. The Huskies' Margo Achterkirch scored at 3:15 of the third period. The Wingers' Taylor Heise answered at 7:21. The game ended with the tie when neither team scored in overtime.

No. 8A Red Wing outshot No. 19A Owatonna 30-23. Laura Ebeling had 29 saves for the Huskies. The Wingers went 0-for-5 on the power play, while OHS was 0-for-3. Owatonna (11-0-2 in the Big Nine, 12-5-2 overall) leads the conference standings based on points with 30. Red Wing (7-0-1, 11-5-3) is fifth in the standings.

Owatonna hosts Minnehaha Academy on Monday night at 7PM as the second half of a boys and girls doubleheader. The OHS boys host Faribault at 5PM in a makeup game.

The Huskies beat Red Wing on Saturday at Four Seasons 5-2. Tyler Wencl and Carter Broton each scored twice. John Swenson also scored. Ryan Johnson got the win in goal.

Monday's schedule also includes Owatonna basketball against Mankato West. The girls meet in Owatonna at 7:30PM with coverage on Kat Kountry 105FM. Owatonna junior Sydney Schultz is five points away from 1,000 in her career. The boys teams will play at West High School at 7:30PM on KRFO AM 1390. Owatonna's adapted floor hockey team hosts New Prague at 4:30PM at Owatonna junior high.

The Triton boys basketball team plays a makeup game Monday at Lake City. The Cobra girls go to Schaeffer Academy. Medford's girls host a makeup game with United South Central.
