The Owatonna High School girls' hockey playoffs will begin Wednesday, February 6 against Dodge County in Kasson at 7 pm on KRFO AM 1390 and the KRFO app. The Huskies (11-10-3) are the sixth seed. The Wildcats (11-12-2) are the third seed. Dodge County beat OHS 3-0 November 30.

Owatonna was on a recent six-game unbeaten streak but fell to Northfield in their regular season finale on January 31. Dodge County won four of their last five games to end the season. Of their 12 losses, eight were by two goals or less.

Dodge County plays an independent schedule and travels the state to face top notch competition. The Wildcats have road wins over top-ten ranked Cloquet-Esko-Carlton and Duluth Marshall. They lost 2-0 at top-ranked in Class A Warroad during a holiday tournament and dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 2-A Breck.

The Wildcats reached the section finals three times between 2013 and 2016 but have never advanced to state. Owatonna has won at least one playoff game each of the last three years and reached the Section 1A finals in 2016. The Huskies have advanced to state three times, in 1997, 2001 and 2003.

Lakeville South beat Farmington in the 2018 title game. A Lakeville team has won the section championship nine of the last eleven years.
