Owatonna dominated New Prague 49-0 to wrap up the regular season Wednesday night. Senior quarterback Abe Havelka became the all-time leader in career touchdown passes with four to move past Colton Schock. Havelka connected twice with Noah Budach and once each with Mitch Wiese and Dalton Kubista. Jason Williamson rushed for two scores and about 135 yards to surpass 3,000 career yards.

The Huskies (7-1) played on a short field most of the night. Four of their touchdown drives covered less than 50 yards. Owatonna's defense forced the Trojans to punt from deep in their own end repeatedly. Budach returned one of those kicks nearly 50 yards to set up a short drive. Cole Rocha had an interception for another short field.

Owatonna will earn the second seed in Section 1-5A and will play their first playoff game Saturday October 28.

Blooming Prairie fell to Rushford-Peterson 39-35 in a key match-up in the Section 1A standings. BP played from behind all night, but kept battling back. The Trojans led 20-7 at the half. The Awesome Blossoms pulled within one score several times. Seth Peterson threw five touchdown passes. BP (6-2) will likely end up with the third seed in the section behind Goodhue and RP. Playoffs start Tuesday.

NRHEG clobbered Lake Crystal-Welcome Memorial 34-8. Tyler Jacobson scored three short touchdowns on five carries for 16 yards. The Panthers (4-4) out gained the Knights 328-200 yards and should open the postseason at home Tuesday

Medford (2-6) pulled away from United South Central 45-14 on Tackle Cancer Night. Triton (7-1) blanked Zumbrota-Mazeppa 42-0 and should receive the second seed in Section 1AA behind defending state champ Caledonia.
