High School football scores, Friday October 3
Rochester Mayo rushed for nearly 250 yards (most of that from one player) while beating the Huskies 42-14 at Owatonna's Homecoming game.
Mayo tried an on-side kick to open the game. It back-fired and led to a short touchdown drive for Owatonna. It was also one of just a few things that didn't work for Mayo, who snapped a two game slide and ended a four game losing streak vs Owatonna.
Greg Henry rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns. Jay Alston had a pair of touchdown passes and a short TD run. The Spartans out gained Owatonna 400-300 yards; plus Mayo had a couple of big kick-off returns to set up a short field.
Owatonna turned the ball over three times. Mayo did not have a turnover.
