Help the Food Shelf
The Steele County Food Shelf is among those taking part in the Open Your Heart Challenge this month. There's 150,000 dollars available overall and the Steele County Shelf could earn as much as 5,000 in the matching grant campaign, so your cash donation in July is all the more important.
Another way to help the Steele County Food Shelf indirectly is by voting in the Twin's All Stars Fans Choose Campaign. There are 7 non profit finalists with just one outside the metro and that one is the Channel One Food Bank in Rochester which si where Steele County purchases their food. At stake is 500,000 dollars which Channel One has said they would use to increase warehouse and production space and add a community kitchen.
