Habitat for Humanity Application Workshop

Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area helps to provide affordable home ownership through the help of volunteers. Habitat for Humanity is inviting interested families to informational workshops to learn about the application process. There will be three to chose from. Each workshop also reviews the programs eligibility criteria.

The first workshop will be in Waseca on Tuesday, December 8, from 7-8:30PM at Grace Lutheran Church, which is at 300 E. Elm Ave.

The other two will be both at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 2500 Seventh Ave. NE, in Owatonna.

• First on Thursday, December 10, from 7-8:30PM.
• Second meeting will be on Saturday, December 12, from 1-2PM.

The criteria for homeowners to be selected by Habitat for Humanity is based on need for housing, ability to pay and a willingness to partner.

According to the press release, to receive an invitation to the application process applicants must complete prequalification paperwork and meet the initial screening requirements.

Members of the community founded Steele County Habitat for Humanity in 1993, and in 2008 Waseca County became an affiliate. Habitat provides safe affordable homes through volunteers. The group has built or rehabbed 22 homes and that in turn is housing more than 30 adults and 60 children. The 23rd home was built in Waseca.
