Owatonna is scheduled to host a playoff soccer doubleheader Tuesday, October 9 at the Lincoln Soccer Complex. With the forecast including a flood watch throughout the day, hopefully, the players won't need flippers or a canoe to get around.

The Owatonna girls and boys teams each earned a No. 3 seed for the Section 1AA tournament. The OHS girls host New Prague at 5 pm Tuesday followed by the boys against Lakeville South at 7 pm.

The OHS girls (9-6-1) take a three-game winning streak into Tuesday's match against the sixth-seeded Trojans (6-11). New Prague is 0-4 versus Big Nine teams including a loss to Mayo, who the Huskies just beat Saturday to end their regular season. The winner will play the winner of the match between No. 2 Lakeville South and No. 7 seed Rochester John Marshall.

Defending Section 1AA girls champ Lakeville North is the top and hosts Mayo Tuesday. No. 5 Century goes to No. 4 seed Farmington in the other quarterfinal.

The OHS boys (12-3-1) hosts No. 6 Lakeville South (4-8-2) at 7 pm Tuesday. The Huskies beat the Cougars 4-3 less than two weeks ago. South is 1-6-2 in games decided by one goal or less. Owatonna has won four straight. The winner plays the winner of the game between No. 2 seed Mayo and No. 7 New Prague.

Defending Section 1AA boys champ Lakeville North is the fourth seed and hosts Century Tuesday while top-seed Farmington entertains Rochester John Marshall.

Section semifinals are Thursday, October 11 with section finals on Tuesday, October 16. All matches are scheduled to be played at the high seed.
