Get ready for a musical treat this Saturday night, September 10, as the Paradise Center for the Arts brings you Gary Rue and the Sensational Sleepers - Beatboom Radio: British Invasion Music '64-'66. They return once again after last year's phenomenal performance to rock the Paradise with the fabulous sounds of the '60s.

If you missed it last year don't make that mistake again as they perform the hits and favorites of such mid-60s rockers such as the Yardbirds, the Dave Clark Five, the Animals, the Kinks, the Hollies, the Rolling Stones and more. These are the bands that were overshadowed by the Beatles and their multitude of hits but kept on plugging away, churning out memorable hits of their own. Speaking of the Fab Four, Gary Rue and the Sensational Sleepers deftly handle several of their tunes throughout the show as well.

These guys grew up performing with bands such as the Coasters, the Drifters, Platters, Tommy Roe, Dion and more, and made up the core quartet for Gene Pitney and are all seasoned professionals well-versed in the music of the '60s and Mid America Hall of Fame Inductees.

I had a chance to visit with Gary Rue about their upcoming show at the Paradise Center for the Arts this morning:
