Friends of Rice Lake State Park Make Donation

The Friends of Rice Lake State Park recently donated $5,000 for the completion of a wildlife observation platform at the park. The platform will be constructed in the form of the letter "T" and will be installed in the lake near the picnic area.

Those who attend the Steele County Free Fair, which runs August 16-21, will have the opportunity to help raise money to complete the project. The Friends of Rice Lake State Park will once again be in the Izaac Walton Building on the north side. They'll have a number of prizes that you can win and information on how you can help the friends.

The money raised so far for the platform came through memberships, raffles and individual donations.
