Steele County Public Health will be offering seasonal flu shot clinics next week for people 18 and older. The schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Medford Manor from 9-10:30AM
  • Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Ellendale Community Center from 12:30-2:30PM
  • Thursday, Oct. 8, from 9-11AM at Owatonna Senior Place
  • Friday, Oct. 9, from noon to 2PM at Blooming Prairie Senior Dining.

They accept Medicare, South County Health Alliance, Medical Assistance, Humana, BCBS, Ucare, Health Partners, Medica, Unicare or $35 cash or check.

If you can't make one of the clinics, call (507) 444-7650. Steele County Public Health will have a nurse available from 8AM to 4PM weekdays to administer shots.

People 65 or older, people with certain health conditions or a weakened immune system are at a greater risk of the flu and should get their flu shot. Those with heart conditions, diabetes or are undergoing chemotherapy are also at a greater risk from flu.
