I have not received any reports of significant flooding issues in Steele County and do not anticipate any problems at this time.

-Mike Johnson from the Steele County Emergency Management issued the following statement:

The recent heavy rain has caused an increase in the water levels on the Straight River and Maple Creek flood gauges. I'm anticipating both gauges to crest soon. There is ponding in some fields and low areas in the county and some trails are closed next to waterways. I have not received any reports of significant flooding issues in Steele County and do not anticipate any problems at this time. The National Weather Service reports indicate that there is no threat of significant flooding in our area. There are no flood watches or warnings issued at this time.

The heaviest rain has ended, which will also help reduce the potential for flood problems. Total forecast rainfall of about .5 to 1 inch expected over the next three days.
