Additional Information

River Bend Nature Center celebrates its 10th annual Maple Syrup Fun Run on Sunday, April 26. The Fun Run includes three events: a 10K trail run, a 5K trail run, and a one-mile walk.

The 10K and 5K races are run on River Bend’s scenic trails along the river and through forest and prairies. Running trails are grass and gravel surfaces. The one-mile walk is not timed, is walked primarily on paved trails, and is a great chance to support River Bend if you’re not a runner. All entries to the Fun Run include admission to the pancake brunch after the race and a race shirt (while supplies last). Participants may purchase additional pancake brunch tickets for their family/friends so they may eat with them after they finish the race.

The 10K run will include two classes, male and female, and the top runner in each class will receive a prize of a decorative bottle of real handmade River Bend maple syrup. The 5K race will be divided into six classes, males and females in three age groups: youth (14 and younger), adult and masters (50+). Maple syrup prizes will also be awarded to the fastest runner in each of the six 5K classes.

Registration for the Maple Syrup Fun Run is open through Saturday, April 25 at 5PM. Race-day registration will also be available. Check-in and registration will take place from 7:30-8:15AM. The 5K race and the one-mile walk will begin at 8:30AM and the 10K race will start at 8:35AM.
