National statistics show that 1 in 4 Americans are suffering from some form of addiction. Addictions don't discriminate by race, sex, marital status, employment, upbringing, social status or education.
RU Recovery Ministries is a faith-based addiction program started in Loves Park, Illinois. RU has been invited to present this successful addiction recovery program to Steele County as an answer to its current addiction crisis. Meetings will be held in downtown Owatonna at the Bridges of Hope Community Church, which serves as the program sponsor.
Reformers Unanimous of Steele County is holding an open house orientation session Friday, October 7, at 7PM at their meeting hall, 130 West Bridge Street in Owatonna. Official weekly meetings start October 14. There is no fee or cost to join RU, and insurance is not required.
Director Keith Haskell implemented and directed the Dakota County Jail RU program from 2008-12 and is an ordained pastor. He has 16 years of experience working in the field of public safety.
