Additional Information
Come and see history brought to life at the fourth annual A Night at the Museum event, hosted by the Rice County Historical Society in its museum and historic outbuildings at 1814 N.W. Second Ave., Faribault, from 4-7PM Saturday, October 8.
Volunteer-actors will play characters from local history related to exhibits in the museum and the historic buildings behind it, located on the Rice County Fairgrounds. Experience a one-room school teacher giving lessons; meet an altar guild member at the former Cannon City Episcopal church; greet a frontier housewife in the log cabin; and go on a flashlight tour of the Heritage and Harvest Halls, where artifacts from early-day county businesses and farming are kept.
Tractor-driven hay rides, food, and music around a fire ring as well as a passport clue-hunt for children with prizes will be offered. The flashlight tours will be offered from 4:15-6:30PM.
The cost of this family friendly event is $2 for adults and $1 for children 12 and younger. Hot dogs, cider, and cookies are sold for a minimal extra cost. Parking for this event is free.
