Additional Information

The Cannon Falls Area Historical Society will be holding its annual meeting at Mill Street Tavern in Cannon Falls on Thursday, October 27. The event begins with a reception at 6:30PM. Various items for the museum collection will be available for viewing and snacks will be provided. The meeting begins at 7PM.

During the program, Chuck Drometer, local collector of Cannon Falls items, will again be showing items from his collection that have not had a public viewing. Also this year the Duncan family has agreed to lend the Civil War-era Duncan sword and other items from Capt. Duncan’s military exploits behind the Confederate lines for viewing. We do not believe that this sword has ever had a public event.

Also new this year will be the ability for people to bring an item, a picture or just a question and a panel of local experts will review the item and attempt to answer questions about it.

Lastly there will be a silent auction of three cream pies and the right to throw the purchased pies into the face of outgoing president Steve Dabelow. The proceeds for this auction will go toward purchasing the lighting for the historic Harvest Mural.

Mill Street Tavern is at 410 Mill St. downtown Cannon Falls.
